Afropop, Afrobeat, Afrofunk — Monday, 6–8:30 PM SLT (US Pacific Time)

This week, World Music at Madhu’s Café takes you on a musical safari as we explore the funky and danceable sounds of the enormous and diverse continent of Africa.

From Kenya to Senegal, Mali to Ethiopia, Nigeria to South Africa, Cameroon to Zimbabwe and more — we’ll hear it all.  We’ll visit legends like Miriam Makeba, Manu Dibango, Angélique Kidjo, and Oliver Mtukudzi.  And we’ll explore the modern sounds of African youth as well, from Niger’s Bombino to South Africa’s Freshlyground.

So get your dancing shoes on and come to the Afrobeat party in Second Life at Madhu’s Café Indien. Or, listen in on Radio Riel Main, wherever you are.  Hope you will join us!

This evening’s program is presented by Carter. To listen, click here to start your player. If you are in the United States, please use the following link:
