Today on Radio Riel we present a programme of music from the Celtic lands, with a bias towards Scotland and particularly towards, but not exclusively, pieces in the Gaelic tongue. In particular, we’ll be celebrating the musical legacy of the Scottish band Runrig. In 2016, the band announced that it would retire from studio recording after the release of its 14th studio album, The Story, and announced their final tour The Last Mile in 2017, culminating in a final concert in Stirling on the 18th of August 2018 titled The Last Dance.

In addition to Runrig, keep your ears open today for artists such as Dougie MacLean, Julie Fowlis, Altan, Karen Matheson and many more.
