Tae The Bard — Music for a Burns Supper

25th Jan­u­ary is the anniver­sary of the birth of Robert Burns, so we’re bring­ing you a pro­gramme of tra­di­tion­al and mod­ern music from Scot­land (with plen­ty of bag­pipes of course), and then, at 11am and 7pm Pacif­ic Time (19:00 and 03:00 GMT) we present a com­plete Burns Sup­per, cour­tesy of the Scots Inde­pen­dent News­pa­per.

Today, Novem­ber 30, is St Andrew’s Day — the Patron Saint of Scot­land — and we’ll be play­ing a pro­gramme con­sist­ing of a wide vari­ety of Scot­tish music — from Scot­tish folk artists to bag­pipe bands and much more.

Music of Scotland

On today’s pro­gramme, Elrik Mer­lin presents a vari­ety of Scot­tish music, both tra­di­tion­al and con­tem­po­rary. The playlist ranges from Scot­tish Coun­try Dance, to pipe bands, to folk music in Eng­lish and Gael­ic, and orches­tral works inspired by the land and peo­ple of the Scot­tish nation. Today, we’re fea­tur­ing tracks from “Karine Pol­wart’s Scot­tish Song­book”.
