Steampunk: The Radio Riel Players Present Tales from New Babbage, “The Phantom Coach”

Radio Riel invites the Riel Audio­philes who love audio dra­ma to tune in this evening at 7:00pm North Amer­i­can Pacif­ic Time to Radio Riel Steam­punk for Tales from New Bab­bage.

The sul­try Scots­man of New Bab­bage, Vic­tor Morn­ing­ton reads the ghost­ly tale of the north­ern moors, The Phan­tom Coach, by Amelia B. Edwards.

Miss Edwards was a jour­nal­ist, nov­el­ist, egyp­tol­o­gist and suf­fragette. She trav­eled exten­sive­ly with only a female com­pan­ion in an era when male chap­er­ones were con­sid­ered social­ly and phys­i­cal­ly essen­tial. She was also an ear­ly advo­cate for the preser­va­tion of arche­o­log­i­cal sites from the rav­ages of devel­op­ment and tourism.
