The Musical Mystery Tour — New Wave

millionsellers

As the decade of the 70’s closed and the dying embers of disco started to fade, the progressive movement started to spawn a new wave of bands who took a different approach to music.

Most of these bands ended up being managed by themselves, something which The Beatles had done at the latter end of their tenure.  These bands mixed the electronic sounds which became prevalent at the end of the 70’s and merged with with other styles and genres of sound like progressive pop, progressive pop and pure electonica.

They became termed as the “New Wave” of pop.  On both sides of the Atlantic  on both the UK and US charts these bands would ultimately shape the entire decade of the 80’s, and that’s there the tour visits today, the decade which shaped music going into the 90’s and ultimately into the new century.

Together with the broadcast, residents within Second Life can listen in live as well by going to Radio Riel’s “Clarendon” in the City State of New Babbage.
