Generation X with Gabrielle: At The Movies, The 1980s

The Breakfast Club

Tune in to Radio Riel’s Main stream this evening from 6:00 — 7:30pm North American Pacific Time as Gabrielle Riel plays Gen X with Gabi, the program that is all about the music that was released (and/or popular) from roughly 1980 — 1999…the years when Generation X ruled pop culture. Tonight’s theme: At the Movies, The 1980s.

It’s rare these days to see pop songs featured in movies hit the charts, but back in the 1980s the pop charts were sprinkled with songs from the movies. Movie soundtracks often contained a mix of instrumental themes and pop music featured in the movie and in some cases, like with the Beverly Hills Cop movies, the soundtracks were nothing but pop music! Tune in tonight as Gabrielle takes you back…not to the future…but to the pop songs of the movies of the 1980s!
