Relay for Life in Second Life
Saturday, 18 July, noon SLT to Sunday, 19 July, noon SLT.

Relay For Life® in Second Life® 2008 was the most successful fundraising event in the history of Second Life. The 2009 virtual Relay is being held right now, and it’s bigger than ever.

Support the Virtual Relay at events.cancer.org/SecondLife

The Relay For Life has returned to Second Life for a fifth consecutive year, and it’s the largest contiguous event Second Life has ever seen. We hope you will join us there. This year’s target is $250,000 US, and your donation can help push it past that goal.

Today on Radio Riel, Elrik Merlin presents a programme of uplifting music of all genres that we hope will truly “raise you up”. The theme for RfL in SL this year is “One World, One Hope”. Please tune in, and don’t hesitate to make a contribution to help conquer this disease. To get started, just click here.

Then, at 10am SLT, to coincide with the Formal Dress lap at RfL, Designing Worlds, the weekly show on design and designers, is having a ballroom-style dance in formal dress at the Treet TV studios at RFL One Hope, http://slurl.com/secondlife/RFL%20One%20Hope/197/97/26.

Join Elrik Merlin and the team from Treet and Designing Worlds for a waltz, a foxtrot and more and help raise money for RfL and the American Cancer Society! Wear your best gown or tux.

While you’re there, don’t hesitate to wander the 37 regions and see the truly tremendous builds that are just here for two days!

Music will be on Radio Riel’s Main Stream.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life began in May 1985 when a colorectal surgeon ran around a track in Tacoma, Washington, for 24 hours, raising $27,000 to support the American Cancer Society. Today Relay For Life is held in more than 4,600 communities in the United States and in 23 countries across the globe. To date, Relay For Life has raised more than $1.5 billion to help the Society accelerate the progress against cancer by saving lives, helping those touched by cancer, and empowering people to fight back against this disease.
