Terpsichore Tuesday — Gen X with Gabi: The Music from the Movies of John Hughes

Sad­ly, the Sum­mer of 2009 has seen the pass­ing of some of Gen­er­a­tion X’s biggest pop cul­ture icons, for exam­ple Far­rah Faw­cett, Michael Jack­son and one of the peo­ple who tru­ly defined Gen X, film­mak­er John Hugh­es. Hugh­es showed what it was like to real­ly be a teenag­er in the mid 1980s in movies like Nation­al Lam­poon’s Vaca­tion, Fer­ris Bueller’s Day Off, Weird Sci­ence, The Break­fast Club, Some Kind of Won­der­ful, Six­teen Can­dles and Pret­ty in Pink. I (Gabrielle) can say this, because I was one of those teenagers.
