Stella Splendens: Medieval Christian and Jewish Music

Llibre Vermell de Montserrat

Today’s program on Radio Riel’s Main stream is a new program inspired by the song Stella Splendens. This program features the ancient and medieval music of Christians and Jews.

Stella Splendens is a polyphonic medieval song found in a 14th Century manuscript called the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat (The Red Book of Montserrat). This manuscript originates from, and still resides at, the monastery of Montserrat outside of Barcelona, Spain.
