Songs from the Nightingale, 11 Years

On October 28, 2006, at the Caledon Halloween Ball in Second Life, I, Gabrielle Riel, shaking with terror, started my audio stream, clicked on the mic button for the first time and began to speak…

That day changed my life and hopefully it changed yours too. Radio Riel exists because I clicked that button and because there were people there listening to me and they liked what they heard.

In honor of my 11th DJversary, I am featuring my favorite classical music in today’s and tomorrow’s program on Radio Riel’s Main stream. You will hear late 19th Century and 20th Century French and American composers, such as Saint-Saens, Berlioz, Debussy, Satie, Gottschalk, Gershwin, Copland, Barber, Bernstein and more.

Additionally, today, Sunday, October 29, I am playing recordings of what I consider to be some of my best/most memorable shows from 2017. The schedule is on North American Pacific time:

1:00pm — 3:00pm — The Carntaigh Court Presentation Ball, originally broadcast on April 21, 2017 for my celebration of my 11 years in Second Life

3:00pm — 4:30pm — Songs from The Nightingale “The Darkness vs The Light”, originally broadcast on March 5, 2017

4:30pm — 5:30pm — Songs My Presenters Gave Me, originally broadcast on June 30, 2017 as a part of the Radio Riel 10th Anniversary Celebration

5:30pm — 7:00pm — Songs from The Nightingale “Endings-Beginnings”, originally broadcast on September 3, 2017

7:00pm — 9:00pm — The Music of Radio Riel, originally broadcast on June 1, 2017 as a part of the Radio Riel 10th Anniversary Celebration

Thank you all for supporting me and my passion for sharing music for the last 11 years. This is who I was meant to be and I am honored to have taken this journey with all of you!
