Shiver Me Timberrrs! Pirates and the Sea

In honour of International Talk Like A  Pirate Day, Cap’n of the Aetherwaves Mr Elrik Merlin is pleased to present a programme of Music of the Sea and Pirates. Well, not just the sea, but water in general.

You can expect a wide range of genres from classical (Handel’s Water Music) to folk (Traditional chanteys and June Tabor’s Ashore album for example) and much more – there’s even some classic Electronica in there, and of course there’s some Hans Zimmer: how could we not? So splice the mainbrace, me hearties, and tune in for a wild ride on the briny (and other bodies of water)!

Note: Some of the sea chanteys contain strong language.

And don’t forget to tune in at 11am/7pm Pacific (19:00/03:00 UK time) for the latest tale in our chilling drama series, The Black Mass (see separate entry).

The picture above is of “The Capture of the Pirate, Blackbeard” by 19th century artist Jean Leon Jerome Ferris.
