Shiver Me Timberrrs! Pirates and the Sea

In honour of International Talk Like A  Pirate Day, Cap’n of the Aetherwaves Mr Elrik Merlin is pleased to present a programme of Music of the Sea and Pirates. Well, not just the sea, but water in general.

You can expect a wide range of genres from classical (Handel’s Water Music; Vaughan Williams’ Sea Symphony) to folk (Traditional chanteys* and June Tabor’s Ashore album for example) and much more – there’s even some classic Electronica in there, and of course there’s some Hans Zimmer: how could we not? So splice the mainbrace, me hearties, and tune in for a wild ride on the briny (and other bodies of water)!

*Note: Some material may contain strong language.

The picture above is of “The Capture of the Pirate, Blackbeard” by 19th century artist Jean Leon Jerome Ferris.
