Saturday At The Movies

The weather may be totally obnoxious where you are, so how about staying in for a movie or your favourite TV show — or at least, their theme and incidental music? That’s what we’re playing today, in a programme that crosses the years and many musical genres.

Listen out for modern movie favourites by Hans Zimmer, John Barry, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith and many more, plus historic soundtracks going back to the 30s and beyond.

Pick up some popcorn and something wet and fizzy and settle back in the best seat in the house — your own.

ZBS Radio Hour

Something strange happened last Saturday and as a result, some of the shows didn’t go out. So we’re running them again today.

Tune in at 11am or 7pm Pacific time (19:00 or 03:00 GMT) for the start of two new adventures in the ZBS Radio Hour.

We begin with Jack Flanders in a two‐part story The Ah‐Ha Phenomenon. Jack Flanders returns, disguised as a dervish, and tip toes through invisible planes in search of the ancient archives that hold all the great past, present, and future Ah-Ha’s! Jack encounters trolls, wizards, demons and mythological beasts on his quest for the wonderful Ah-Ha’s.

Jack is followed by Ruby the Galactic Gumshoe in The Underworld (aka Ruby 3). Ancient Sumerian mythology and other mystical gems weave throughout this taut galactic gumshoe extravaganza. Ruby, our feisty super‐sleuth with an overdose of sass, has been hired to investigate a distinctly evil force that is seeping through the walls of Magnifico, the City of Malls. Meanwhile Inanna is on her own trip into the Underworld to face the Seven Gates, the dark feminine goddess, and quite possibly her death!

Today’s programme is presented by Elrik Merlin. You can listen to the programme at, or simply click here to start your player, if your browser is configured to do so. Listeners in the United States are encouraged to tune in using this link:
