Riel “Classical” Music

Common Practice Composers

Radio Riel has “classical music” for your entire weekend! This program is running on both Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25.

The term “classical music” is what is often used to describe all of the European styles of music from around 1600 — 1900. This time frame is called the common practice period and it consists of three distinct eras: Baroque, Classical and Romantic.

This weekend’s program on Radio Riel’s main stream features music from all three of these eras. This is the type of programming that you hear on commercial radio stations that bill themselves as “classical music” stations. From Monteverdi to Mozart to Mendelssohn, please enjoy the greatest hits of the common practice period!

Today’s program is presented by Gabrielle Riel. If you are in the United States, please click here to launch the Stream Licensing player. To listen from outside of the United States, click here to start your player .
