Remembering Soliel: Smooth Jazz

Hel­lo and wel­come to a day of relax­ing con­tem­po­rary music from the smooth end of the jazz spec­trum, with some­what of a bias towards key­boards. If your week has been a bit hec­tic so far, then kick back and enjoy some smooth jazz moods. Once again, this broad­cast is in mem­o­ry of our dear friend Soliel who passed away a few days ago — in fact she was the first of our pre­sen­ters to play smooth jazz on Radio Riel — and it includes some artists, like Tom Grant, to whom Soliel intro­duced me.

Smooth does­n’t mean slow nec­es­sar­i­ly: there are some tracks that kick up the tem­po a bit to help you through the day. Almost exclu­sive­ly instru­men­tal, so if you need to focus, read, write, study, build… there are few lyrics to intrude.

Artists include Suzanne Ciani, David Benoit, Tom Grant, Exchange, Jim Chap­pell, Bil­ly Bar­ber, Ian Lynn, Acoustic Alche­my and many more.
