Main: Vicwardiana

Today on Radio Riel we present a collection of music from the Victorian and Edwardian eras — “Vicwardiana”.

In fact the programme runs from around the mid-19th Century to around the end of the First World War.

The show covers a wide range of musical styles and genres, from music-hall songs to parlour ballads, from classical pieces to waltzes and dance-hall music, and music from mechanical instruments of the period (plus some rather more recent, but you’ll have to spot them). Recordings are a mixture of modern and vintage.

Today’s programme is presented by Elrik Merlin. If you are in the United States or Canada, please click here to launch the Stream Licensing player.

We are testing our new server system today and would be pleased to hear comments. The new 128 kb/s mp3 Main Stream is on http:/streams.radioriel.org:8010/stream — and our test HE-AAC 88kb/s broadcast is on http://streams.radioriel.org:8090/stream

Note that our redirects don’t point at the new server yet — they point at the “old” streams.
