Main: Strings

The sound of strings, from violin and cello all the way through to the double bass. Often associated with the “classical” period of music — that of the Eighteenth and early 19th century, the classical sound has influenced everything from buskers to motion picture sound tracks.

Today’s programme features performances from the works of Beethoven, Paganini, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Sibelius, Bach and a variety of other composers of the period. Something soothing while you work.

Today’s programme is presented by Edward Pearse. You can listen to the programme in-world now at http://main.radioriel.org, or simply click here to start your player, if your browser is configured to do so.
