Main: A Tribute to Marvin Hamlisch

The day before yesterday, August 6, 2012, the American movie and musical composer Marvin Hamlisch passed away at the age of 68. Today’s program on Radio Riel’s Main stream is a tribute to his work. You will hear music from the movies and Broadway musicals written by Hamlisch, as well as that of other composers in those genres.

Marvin Hamlisch was a musical prodigy who was accepted into Julliard before he turned 7. He composed prolifically in the 1970s and 1980s, and is one of two people, the other being Richard Rodgers, to win an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, a Tony and a Pulitzer Prize.
