La Musique Française

Celebrate Maurice Ravel’s birthday with us as we nip across the Channel to feast our ears on the music of some of the most memorable of French composers.

In addition to M. Ravel, we will be including works by Rameau, a personal favourite, as well as Debussy, Poulenc, Fauré (another favourite), Satie, Berlioz and Chopin.

Most of the performances are traditional, but there will be some modern interpretations too, such as the music of Isao Tomita and some light jazz.

The picture shows one of Monet’s many paintings of the Japanese Bridge in his garden at Giverny.
