Today on Radio Riel’s main stream we are fea­tur­ing the quin­tes­sen­tial­ly Amer­i­can music of the Vaude­ville stage!

In the days before tele­vi­sion, movies, radio and even record­ed music, Vaude­ville was one way that spread pop­u­lar music of the time. Vaude­ville’s hey­day was rough­ly from 1880 — 1930. Many ear­ly movies were sim­ply typ­i­cal Vaude­ville reviews put on film. Some Vaude­ville per­form­ers, like Fred Astaire, made the tran­si­tion from the stage to the sil­ver screen. We hope that you enjoy this day of Vaude­ville!
