Happy Birthday William Shakespeare!

in Daily Programme, Radio Riel Main

by Gabrielle Riel on Sunday, 27 April, 2014

Welcome to a Sunday of Shakespeare!

Today’s program on Radio Riel’s main stream is in honor of the 450th birthday of William Shakespeare. You will hear music based on his works from across the Common Practice period as well as from the 20th Century. You will also hear selections from many of his plays, including The Tempest, Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

In addition to today’s general program, Gabrielle Riel presents a special broadcast, “The Shakespeare Ball”,  this evening from 6:00pm — 7:30pm North American Pacific time.

The man that hath no music in himself, Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils; The motions of his spirit are dull as night, And his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted. Mark the music.

William Shakespeare, The Tempest
