Grand Opening of the Great Exhibition

Come to Ster­ling Grove and vis­it the open­ing of the Great Exhi­bi­tion of the Works of Indus­try of All Nations at the Crys­tal Palace! Meet their Roy­al High­ness­es Queen Vic­to­ria and Prince Albert!

The Great Exhi­bi­tion show­cas­es won­ders and inven­tions from all around Our World. See the very best of Sec­ond Life design col­lect­ed togeth­er in a spec­tac­u­lar 4‑sim recre­ation of Joseph Pax­ton’s Crys­tal Palace*.

See great and ancient crea­tures! Mar­vel at exot­ic vehi­cles and devices! Expe­ri­ence the Won­ders of the World!

Dur­ing the event, Their Roy­al High­ness­es the Queen and Prince Con­sort are sched­uled to arrive by train at the Exhi­bi­tion and will greet vis­i­tors. In addi­tion, there will be a grand Fire­works Dis­play, and many free gifts will be avail­able.

Mr Elrik Mer­lin of Radio Riel will be pro­vid­ing a back­drop of Vic­to­ri­an waltzes and pop­u­lar clas­si­cal music for the open­ing hour, before hand­ing over to Miss Añu Papp for the sec­ond half of the event.

*The Crys­tal Palace was orig­i­nal­ly erect­ed in 1851 in Lon­don’s Hyde Park for the Great Exhi­bi­tion and sub­se­quent­ly moved to Syden­ham, South Lon­don, where it was sig­nif­i­cant­ly expand­ed, and formed a cen­tre of enter­tain­ment and leisure for Lon­don until its sad destruc­tion by fire in 1936.
