FTL: Sergei Prokofiev

Radio Riel presents in today’s Programme a showcasing of Sergei Prokofiev. Best known to most audiences for composing Peter and the Wolf in 1936. A Russian Composer best known for mastering several genres, he became one of the greatest composers in the early 20th century. A selection of his sonatas, ballets and symphonies will be played today.

As a treat, we have a copy of the première performance of Peter and the Wolf from 1939 for American audiences. Played by the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Narrated by Richard Hale.
