From the Library: The Silk Road

in Daily Programme

by Gabrielle Riel on Wednesday, 10 February, 2010

Today, Radio Riel returns to its World Wednesday roots with a program of music from the many countries and cultures that lay along The Silk Road.  The Silk Road is a network of roads and sea routes that have existed for thousands of years and that served as the conduits for trade between the East and the West. These connections influenced and built China, India, Egypt, Persia, Arabia and Rome. Today’s music comes from the modern day equivalents of these cultures. We hope that you enjoy your trip along the Silk Road with us today.

Radio Riel produces this program in conjunction with the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life. You can listen to the program now at . Today’s music originates from the music library of Gabrielle Riel.
