From the Library: Scandinavian traditions

in Daily Programme

by Otenth Paderborn on Tuesday, 13 January, 2009

Today’s From the Library celebrates nordic musical traditions. From the Finnish harp (and stunning vocals) to the nyckelharpa and fiddle of Sweden to the harp and fiddle of viking-influenced Scotland and Ireland, we have a sampler of a wide range of musical styles. Many of the tracks you will hear are dance tunes: march, waltz, polska, hambo, schottis, and more.

From the Library is produced by Radio Riel in conjunction with the Caledon Library in Second Life. Today’s program was produced by Otenth Paderborn.

For more information on the Caledon Library, current exhibits and the work of Second Life reference libraries in general, please visit the Caledon Library Web site, or one of their locations in-world.
