From the Library: Old Time Flavor

Today, I (Gabrielle Riel) am pleased to present a program unlike anything that I have personally presented before on Radio Riel! Our programs on Radio Riel have featured many types of “American music”, from Classical to Jazz. Today we take you to the mountains and backwoods of the rural East Coast and Southern United States with a program of music with an “old time” flavor. You will hear Bluegrass, Country, American Folk and Contemporary music with clear roots in the older genres. I also challenge you to listen for the influences of the English, Scottish and Irish music from which “old time music” was born!

Radio Riel produces this program in conjunction with the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life. You can listen to the program now at http://music.radioriel.org . Today’s music originates from the music library of Gabrielle Riel.

For more information on the Alexandrian Free Library, current exhibits and the work of Consortium members in general, please visit the Alexandrian Free Library website, or one of their branches in-world.
