From the Library: Mechanical Music Hall

Today, Elrik Merlin presents selections from traditional mechanical instruments of all kinds: street organs, barrel pianos, Symphonions, Carousels and Calliopes, and musical boxes. The mix includes some modern material written for these instruments as well as traditional Victorian favourites. In addition, to leaven the mix somewhat, we have included some waltzes and popular dances of the turn of the 19th/20th centuries including works by Strauss and others.

The picture shows a Mortier steam organ.
