From the Library… Jane Austen Special Program

Radio Riel is proud to present a special program of Jane Austen’s “Persuasion”, as well as music of Jane Austen’s time and some of the recent film scores to Austen movies, in support of the Caledon Library’s “The Complete Jane” program.

From the Library Militant website: “Beginning January 13, PBS will air film versions of each of Miss Jane Austen’s novels on Sundays through April. (For information, see ) You are invited to join an informal discussion of the films and the novels, the Monday evenings following, at 6 p.m. SLT at The Whitehorn Library in Caledon. This is awesome! I found this through Moxie Grumby, and I am delighted about all the Jane Austen fun.

That said, I'm not digging the voice talent they used for Persuasion. I'll see if I can get past it.

I am so glad you found us Meaghan! Welcome to Radio Riel!

I agree with you - some of the Librivox "readers" are better than others, but that is to be expected as Librivox is 100% volunteer.

The benefit to Librivox? They are 100% public domain. 🙂 It's wonderful having the resource and knowing that the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) can't come after us.

I hope you enjoy the music too!
