From the Library: Happy Birthday Felix Mendelssohn

Today’s pro­gram on Radio Riel’s Main stream cel­e­brates the birth­day, and the work of the Ger­man com­pos­er, pianist and con­duc­tor, Jakob Lud­wig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.  The man we know as Felix Mendelssohn was born on Feb­ru­ary 3, 1809. In hon­or of his 201st Birth­day, we present a ret­ro­spec­tive of his best known works, such as his Sym­phonies, Over­tures, Con­cer­tos, and Gabrielle’s per­son­al favorite, his musi­cal ren­der­ing of William Shake­speare’s “A Mid­sum­mer Night’s Dream”.
