From the Library: Deep Strings

Today’s program features the deep-voiced stringed instruments, the cello and viola da gamba. The viola da gamba has roots in the 15th-century vihuela, while the cello developed during the 16th from the bass violin. Included are both classical and folk styles, and soloists, chamber groups, and orchestral settings.

Radio Riel produces “From the Library” in conjunction with the Caledon Library in Second Life. Today’s music originates from the music library of Otenth Paderborn. Many of the tracks in today’s program are available from our good friends at Magnatune.com.
