From the Library: A Baroque Extravaganza

Today, Elrik Merlin presents a programme of Baroque works from a varied range of composers including Bach, Handel, Rameau, Arne and others, including performances of all kinds from solo instrumentalists to chamber groups to full orchestral ensembles.

You’ll hear recorder concertos from Vivaldi, keyboard variations from Bach and the original setting of Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks and both Water Music suites.

In addition we will be playing some modern pieces inspired by the Baroque, including a few jazz-influenced settings of works by Bach and Purcell.

We’ll also be telling you about a forthcoming new regular feature of Saturdays on Radio Riel, starting on January 16th: The ZBS Radio Hour, where we’ll be playing some simply wonderful radio serials from our friends at ZBS Foundation – at both US- and EU-friendly times.
