From The Library… A Victorian Music Festival

Today’s programme for Boxing Day consists of a variety of pieces of music that would have been familiar to a Victorian audience, from popular ballads and the waltzes, notably those composed by members of the Strauss family that became popular during this period and laid the foundation for today’s New Years Day performances live from Vienna, to classical pieces and extracts from the light opera of Gilbert & Sullivan.

From The Library is presented by Radio Riel in conjunction with the Caledon Library in Second Life, and today’s programme was produced by Elrik Merlin.
