Four ‘English’ Composers

in Daily Programme

by Elrik Merlin on Wednesday, 22 February, 2012

Purcell, Handel, Haydn and Mendelssohn… four composers who were profoundly influenced by their life in England.

But only one of them was actually born there (Purcell). However, all four had a major impact on British classical music, and today we’re featuring pieces from all four of them.

Today’s programme is presented by Elrik Merlin and produced by Radio Riel in conjunction with our friends at the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life.
