Folk Byways with Elrik Merlin

Today we present a programme of modern folk music from the UK (well nearly — there are a couple of North American artists in there if truth be told).

We’ll be hearing moderately recent releases, plus tracks from the last 20 years or so, with the occasional traditional number thrown in alongside the likes of the Unthanks, Chumbawamba, Fourtold and others, many suggested by my colleague on Designing Worlds, Saffia Widdershins.

Some of today’s selections are definitely on the rock side of folk, so be prepared for a fairly up-tempo day.

Today’s programme is presented by Elrik Merlin and produced by Radio Riel in conjunction with our friends at the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life. You can listen to the programme in-world now at http://main.radioriel.org, or simply click here to start your player, if your browser is configured to do so. Listeners in the United States are encouraged to tune in using this link: http://loudcity.com/stations/radio-riel/tune_in
