Dorothy Parker’s Birthday — 5–8pm SLT

Hey, jazz babies! Join Miss Magdalena Kamenev at her club “Wit’s End” on Friday, August 22nd, to celebrate the birthday of poet, critic, short-story writer and wit Dorothy Parker. There will be 1920s and 1930s music on the stream, excerpts of Dottie’s work, and a free gift all day long.

The Parker program begins at 5 pm SLT, when Steelhead Library Director Riven Homewood leads an hour-long discussion on Parker at the café. From 6–8 pm SLT, Gabrielle Riel will be spinning 1920s and 1930s tunes.

Period costume (flapper, rum runner, Valentino, etc.) encouraged but not required. Come party with us and soak up some atmosphere and conversation … or maybe just some bathtub gin. To listen remotely to Radio Riel’s stream, go to this URL: .
