A Baroque Collection

Today marks the birthdays of three well-known Baroque composers — Telemann (1681), CPE Bach (1714) and Couperin (1755) — and we’ll be hearing some of their music today along with other selections from this era of elegance and delicious twiddly bits.

The programme focuses primarily on smaller ensembles and solo instruments, so listen out for some of Telemann’s pieces for recorder, for example; some elegant trios by Couperin for bassoon, cello and harpsichord; plus some gorgeous keyboard pieces.

Today’s programme is presented by Elrik Merlin. To listen, click here to start your player, if your browser is configured to do so. In the United States, please use http://loudcity.com/stations/radio-riel/tune_in
