Bollywood Diwali Party — Monday Evening, 6–8:30 PM SLT (US Pacific Time)

This evening, tune into World Music at Madhu’s Café to celebrate the Hindu festival of Diwali with the sounds of Bollywood and other Indian beats.

Bollywood” is an informal nickname for the Hindi-language movie industry, based in Mumbai.  The songs from these movies are the popular backdrop of everyday life in much of India and elsewhere as well.  If you’ve never heard this music before, tune in to find out why I consider it some of the best music in the world.  We’ll be exploring the music of Bollywood from the 1950s to the present day, and venturing into some of the other Indian film industries as well, including Tamil-language and Telugu-language movie songs.

So come and get ready to dance and romance to the filmi sounds in Second Life at Madhu’s Café Indien, or listen in on Radio Riel Main, wherever you are.  Hope you will join us!
