We at Radio Riel are pleased to announce that we are nominated in the Favorite Second Life Radio Station category for the 2012 Avi Choice Awards!

These are the annual awards that recognize talented people and organizations that have a presence in the virtual world of Second Life.

While Radio Riel is an Internet radio station for everyone, the story of our origin is very unique. Radio Riel was founded in Second Life on June 1, 2007 by Neo-Victorian and Steampunk enthusiasts and music lovers. Our goal was to provide a “soundtrack” of Classical, English Folk and Steampunk music to the virtual communities.

What started small in a virtual world quickly grew up and out, and now we broadcast to all listeners on the Internet. Radio Riel has six separate audio streams, each with its own style and genre of music, and we feature classic and contemporary audio dramas.

If you would like to show your support for Radio Riel, voting is active now at: https://avichoiceawards.wordpress.com/vote-for-your-favorite/vote-entertainment-categories/ . The radio station category is at the top of the page. You do not have to vote in every category; one is enough.

If you would like to support individual Radio Riel presenters, FOUR of us were nominated as Favorite Second Life DJs: Carter Denja, Elrik Merlin, Gabrielle Riel and Victor Mornington. Just scroll down the page to find the category.

Voting closes at 8:00pm North American Pacific time on Wednesday, December 12, so please pass this link along to your friends that support Steampunk, Dieselpunk, Classical, Jazz music and more!
