Oné hundred and one years ago on this date, an uproar at the Paris Opera House shook not only the streets of Paris, but ushered in a new era in classical music.

In honor of the infamous première of The Rite of Spring on May 29, 1913, today’s program on Radio Riel’s Main stream features classical music from the early 20th century. It features music from Igor Stravinsky, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie, Sergei Prokofiev, Nickolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Manuel de Falla, Ottorino Respighi and more.
