Following Radio Riel’s successful series of events at Tribute Island earlier in the year, we are now back at the new-look Commemorative Bar to support a stunning series of live performances on alternate Fridays, featuring SL’s top live musicians, paying tribute to the artists who have inspired them.
Tonight Louis Volare, professional RL/SL performer and recording artist, has kindly offered to play a live tribute gig to one of his heroes, the former Beatle and man of peace John Lennon. All money raised will go to help in the fight against cancer through Relay for Life. Louis will be playing for about an hour and a half, followed by a Lennon tribute from Radio Riel to complete the 3hr event.
This is the first of the new Live Music Season at Tribute Island, sponsored by the good folks at www.lastingtribute.co.uk, in association with Prim Perfect Magazine and Radio Riel. Each concert – held on alternate Fridays during the summer and autumn months – will feature a live performance of an hour to an hour and a half, together with music from Radio Riel. Several of the gigs are charity events and will be raising money for Relay for Life etc.
The artists and those they are paying tribute to will appear on the Prim Perfect blog over the coming weeks, where you can find more details of the concerts.
Come and catch some of the top musicians in SL paying tribute to the sources of their inspiration — and dance to the sources themselves with Radio Riel!
If you can’t be there in person, catch Radio Riel’s music segment on http://music2.radioriel.org.
