Remembering Soliel: Smooth Jazz

Hello and welcome to a day of relaxing contemporary music from the smooth end of the jazz spectrum, with somewhat of a bias towards keyboards. If your week has been a bit hectic so far, then kick back and enjoy some smooth jazz moods. Once again, this broadcast is in memory of our dear friend Soliel who passed away a few days ago — in fact she was the first of our presenters to play smooth jazz on Radio Riel — and it includes some artists, like Tom Grant, to whom Soliel introduced me.

Smooth doesn’t mean slow necessarily: there are some tracks that kick up the tempo a bit to help you through the day. Almost exclusively instrumental, so if you need to focus, read, write, study, build… there are few lyrics to intrude.

Artists include Suzanne Ciani, David Benoit, Tom Grant, Exchange, Jim Chappell, Billy Barber, Ian Lynn, Acoustic Alchemy and many more.
