Today, April 21, 2010, Radio Riel is thrilled to announce our newest, and fourth, audio stream: Radio Riel Dieselpunk!

Radio Riel Dieselpunk plays 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and features music from 1920 — 1940, including Pop Standards, Big Band and Swing, Burlesque and Cabaret and a dash of Film Noir Soundtracks.

To listen to Radio Riel Dieselpunk:

  1. Open a media player on your computer, such as Windows Media Player, iTunes or WinAmp
  2. Find the option under the menus that is called “Open URL” or “Open Stream”
  3. Enter the following URL: http://dieselpunk.radioriel.org

What is Dieselpunk?  To quote Wikipedia:

Dieselpunk is shorthand to describe a fantasy society with an industrial level of development, informed by Cyberpunk sensibilities.  It is a manipulation on an alternate, future 1950s from the developed technology and society of the 1930’s, where the Great Depression never arrived thus World War II is still being fought as a prolonged Cold War.”
