Today we bring you a programme devoted to the music of the harp — in all its forms, from Celtic and even earlier instruments to modern orchestral multi-pedal harps.

At the same time we include genres that range from traditional, to Early Music, to classical, to contemporary instrumental, rock and jazz. There’s even some music from Ancient Rome.

You’ll hear today from Loreena McKennitt and Alan Stivell; from David Snell; from Joanna Newsom (pictured), and Deborah Henson-Conant. And a great many more, including the Harp Consort, formed to provide continuo parts for Early Music.

Today’s programme is presented by Elrik Merlin and produced by Radio Riel in conjunction with our friends at the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life. You can listen to the programme in-world now at http://main.radioriel.org, or simply click here to start your player, if your browser is configured to do so. Listeners in the United States are encouraged to tune in using this link: http://loudcity.com/stations/radio-riel/tune_in
