In the Good Old Summertime

There’s a time each year that we always hold dear, good old summertime. With the birds and the trees’es and sweet scented breezes, good old summertime. When your day’s work is over, then you are in clover and life is one beautiful rhyme. No trouble annoying, each one is enjoying, the good old summertime.

As summer settles over the Northern Hemisphere, many people are heading off on their vacation or holiday. It was the same 100 years ago with the middle and upper class families in North America and Europe. From boardwalks and beaches to picnics and parties, these events shared a similar soundtrack of popular songs and ragtime that eventually became iconic of the early 20th century.

Songs like “Take Me Out to The Ball Game”, “In My Merry Oldsmobile” and “In the Good Old Summertime” are what make up today’s program on Radio Riel’s main stream.
