Today in From the Library we’re featuring a range of swing and big band tracks. There’s a preponderance of instrumental pieces and a tendency towards the 30s and 40s, but apart from that there are tunes from both sides of the Atlantic, ranging in time from the early 30s to as late as the 70s, as the set includes some of the wealth of modern big band instrumental material that accompanied television test transmissions in the UK in years gone by.

If you like tight, snappy, sophisticated arrangements and the highest quality of musicianship in jazz-influenced instrumental music, you’ll find it on Radio Riel today.
