Today on Radio Riel, please join us for a day of music from the Victorian and Edwardian eras. The show will include popular songs and ballads familiar to those of us who frequent the music-halls.

In addition we shall be enjoying some of the marvellous musical confections of Mr Lionel Monckton and, from time to time, we shall regale you with the sounds of the latest in Mechanical Instrumentation, including the famous Carousel Steam-Organ.

We also have a treat for you in the form of two of the Very Latest Instruments in the Mechanicall Tradition, namely the Famous Cybraphon, whose feelings are well-known to those of us who frequent the Æther-nets; and the latest Musicall Entertainments from the redoubtable Professor Armchair, courtesy of our friends at Magnatune.com, who may be known to you as tending to be tempted by Too Much Mustard. (And while we are at it, we’ll hear the 1913 Princes Band rendering of the piece by the same name.)

We guarantee that a most enjoyable time is to be had by all.

And don’t forget to join us at 11am and 7pm SLT for the latest installment of our ZBS serial Moon Over Morocco!

From the Library is produced by Radio Riel in conjunction with the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life. You can listen to the programme now at http://music.radioriel.org. Today’s programme is presented by Elrik Merlin.
