During his lifetime Beethoven’s influence on Classical Music was so great that he was referred to as “The Maestro”. Despite later deafness and social turmoil he is today one of the most recognised composers in the world, his 5th Symphony opening possibly being THE most recognisable musical phrase ever.

Today’s broadcast features his symphonies, as well as a selection of concertos and better known piano pieces.

Radio Riel produces this program in conjunction with the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life. You can listen to the program now at http://music.radioriel.org. Today’s music originates from the music library of Edward Pearse.

For more information on the Alexandrian Free Library, current exhibits and the work of Consortium members in general, please visit the Alexandrian Free Library website, or one of their branches in-world.
