A Ghostly Victorian Entertainment

Today on Radio Riel as we wind down towards the end of the year – and of the holiday season – we will be featuring music of the Victorian and Edwardian periods, including a dash of seasonal material from Revels and other groups.

In addition, we’ll be featuring three Ghost Stories for Christmas written by the Edwardian author E F Benson. Two of the three are full-cast dramatisations by the Radio Riel Players, while the third is read by Elrik Merlin. These will be broadcast at 11am and 7pm Pacific time (19:00 and 03:00 GMT). Each lasts about half an hour, so the entire programme will run for about an hour an a half. The stories are as follows:

  • How Fear Departed from the Long Gallery  – full cast dramatisation, performed by the Radio Riel Players (36 mins)
  • The Bus-Conductor – read by Elrik Merlin (23 mins)
  • The Room in the Tower – full cast dramatisation, performed by the Radio Riel Players (33 mins)

Today’s programme is presented by Elrik Merlin. You can listen to the programme in-world now at http://main.radioriel.org, or simply click here to start your player, if your browser is configured to do so.
